Boise, Idaho (CNN) Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA) is offering a guarantee for a second-heirloom electric car.
The company announced the new offer on Thursday, and is asking customers to return the cars if they have problems with them, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Tesla Motors is also offering a free secondhand car inspection, as well as the option to get a second hand car repaired at any Tesla store.
The offer, which was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, comes after a year of public backlash and a series of incidents that included a woman who died in a Tesla car after it exploded.
The woman, a former model, was reportedly driving with her boyfriend and their 2-year-old daughter when the car exploded and they lost control of the vehicle, according to the New York Times.
The Tesla car is considered one of the safest in the world, and a Tesla spokesperson said that it was not aware of any other issues.
