By Tom Leighton, Business InsiderThe Tesla Model X SUV is currently the highest-selling car in the US, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with sales in October of nearly 15 million units.
It is the first SUV that has received a second hand price guarantee, but that is not what Tesla has offered in its two offers for the Model X.
The company has announced that the Model S with a second-hand price guarantee will be sold at $31,000, which is a $2,200 discount off the sticker price.
The Model X will cost $39,500, and that is $1,400 more than the first hand-guaged Model S.
That $2 to $3,000 difference between the price offered for the first and second hand versions of the car will be available to the first owner.
Tesla said the second- and third-hand versions of each vehicle will have identical specifications, but the first owners will receive a free set of Tesla stickers.
The first owners of the Model C SUV will receive the same $1 discount for their first Tesla Model.
The second owners will get a $1 off sticker price of $36,750.
Tesla will also be offering a free, limited-time, 10% off Tesla sticker price to first owners.
Tesla’s offer to second owners is for a Model S (above), a Model X (below), and a third-generation Model X S (below).
The third-gen Model X is expected to be sold for $41,000 in two different models: the base model, which has a price tag of $50,000 and is available in all trim levels, and the Premium model, that has a base price of about $70,000.
Tesla also announced that its Model X and XS cars will receive two free upgrades to the front seats, the third- and fourth-generation versions of which will also have free upgrades in the third and fourth row.
Tesla said the first buyers of the second hand Model S will receive free bumper covers, bumper stickers, and a free $25 Tesla sticker.
The premium model will receive bumper covers and bumper stickers for free.
The third and fifth-generation models will also receive bumper stickers and bumper covers.
