BMO’s electric-car unit is offering its dealers a guaranteed second-houghts to sell a Tesla Model S.
In a statement on Wednesday, the British-based carmaker said its second-generation electric-drive vehicles are selling faster than those sold by Tesla and Nissan.
It said that since its initial delivery of Model Ss, it has sold around 50,000 vehicles, with the most recent batch of vehicles coming from the US.
The electric-cars unit said that it would offer the guarantee to its dealers, with Tesla, Nissan and BMW also providing the same guarantee.
The statement was made in response to a question from BMW’s UK sales director, Michael Taylor.BMW said that as part of its deal with Teslas, it is providing a guarantee of up to 50,00 miles on the second-year of the loan, which will allow the vehicle to go on sale to customers.
Tesla has already secured its second deal with a carmaker, with its deal in July for the first three electric-vehicle deliveries, which have so far included the Tesla Model 3, a vehicle that is expected to go into production in 2019.
