Electric-car maker Tesla (TSLA) is offering a guaranteed secondhand price-hangover on secondhand cars, the latest in a series of price-related incentives that the automaker is offering to drivers who purchase a car with a pre-owned warranty.
Tesla has already extended warranty benefits to buyers who have purchased its Model S sedan.
That extended warranty, which lasts through 2025, includes a $1,000 cash back credit and up to $25,000 in cash back on purchases from Tesla dealerships.
Tesla has also offered a $100,000 discount on any purchase from its dealerships over the past three years.
The secondhand warranty was first announced in October.
It covers up to 90 days of the car’s warranty, but the warranty does not cover parts that were lost or damaged during the warranty period.
The guarantee is limited to new car purchases.
Tesla is offering guaranteed second-hand price hangover on pre-existing cars, according to the company’s announcement.
“We are excited to offer guaranteed second hands on the Tesla Model S,” said Mark Fields, Tesla’s chief financial officer.
“As an example, we are offering a $10,000 guarantee for second hands from any Model S purchased in 2018 and 2019.
This means we can guarantee the car is safe, is in good condition and that there are no defects that are not covered by the warranty.
This guarantee is not limited to the purchase of the Tesla S or Model X, and it does not apply to other pre-sold models.
This will allow us to deliver the safest and most reliable vehicles on the market.”
The second-hanging guarantee is offered for Model S owners who have been driving the car for at least two years.
The offer is good through October, and the guarantee is valid until the vehicle is no longer eligible for warranty coverage.
Tesla is offering an additional $1 per day until October 31, 2019.
Last year, Tesla offered a guaranteed price hangout for the first time, after a deal that offered $2,000 for the car.
That guarantee was limited to pre-paid customers.
During the second-half of 2018, Tesla began offering guaranteed price hangs.
The Guaranteed Price Hangout program began at the end of the first quarter and continues to this day.
The company announced that the Guaranteed Guaranteed Secondhand Price Hangover was added to its warranty benefits on October 11.
This was in addition to other price-saving programs, such as a guaranteed $500 discount on the first $1 million of Tesla’s vehicle purchases, and a $25 discount on Model X deliveries.
A Tesla spokeswoman declined to comment on the company providing guaranteed second time-hand hangovers to its drivers.
